SANCTUARY AND IMMIGRANT JUSTICE
A presentation on issues with current immigration law, issues preventing immigrants from attaining fair hearings, and what our faith communities are doing in response.
Cristina Fernandez, Michael Resman, Phil Wheeler
Cristina Fernandez is the Community Engagement Coordinator at Community Health Service, Inc. a non-profit sliding-fee-scale clinic here in Rochester, MN. She has been with CHSI for 5 years and enjoys being able to help the underserved and strives to make a difference in people’s lives.
Michael Resman retired from a position as an Occupational Therapist with the Rochester Schools. He is an author and active in the Quaker church and advocating for immigration reform. He blogs at compassionateimmigrationreform.wordpress.com.
Phil Wheeler retired from the Rochester-Olmsted Planning Department in 2013. He enjoys retirement, travels a lot with Sue Wheeler, and is the Chair of the Racial Justice Task Group at the Rochester UU Church, the group that proposed the UU Sanctuary resolution.
