Goal and Outcome Objective
Goals
- Promote health and reduce chronic disease risk through the consumption of healthful diets and achievement and maintenance of healthy body weights
- Improve health, fitness, and quality of life through daily physical activity
Outcome Objective
- By December 31, 2020, reduce the percentage of Olmsted County adults who are
- Obese from 28.0% to 26.0%
- Overweight from 64.0% to 60.0%
- By December 31, 2020, reduce the percentage of Olmsted County adolescent who are
- Obese from 7.4% to 7.0%

Strategy
- Promote a culture of healthy eating
- By December 31, 2018, increase the percentage of people who meet the recommended guidelines for fruit and vegetable consumption
- Adults: from 50.0% to 55.0%
- Adolescents: from 21.1% to 25.0%
- Promote a culture of physical activity
- By December 31, 2018, increase the percentage of people who meet the recommended guidelines for moderate physical activity
- Adults: from 48.0% to 55.0%
- Adolescents: from 48.2% to 55.0%
2015 Achievements
2015 Achievements
- Merge with the Making it Better networking in October 2015
- Membership in Obesity Coalition increase when both community obesity prevent groups joined forces.
- The MIB model allows for over 300 people to be aware of current efforts related to obesity prevention through their newsletter and social media.
2016 Activities
- By December 31, 2016 identify three organizations that committed and are actively implementing Health Eating and Physical Activity nutrition standards
- Promote two or three obesity programs in the community and highlight outcomes through MIB Public Media
- Identify one or two successful community activities and their outcomes around obesity prevention work
